Research and training body IGD has introduced a new Asia platform to its operations, which is headquartered in Singapore.
The IGD Asia research platform will offer field-based research and analysis into Asian food and grocery retailing, and will focus on providing businesses with in-depth information to enable them to trade successfully in the region.
It will sit alongside the other global insights platforms in the IGD portfolio, Retail Analysis, ShopperVista and Supply Chain Analysis, and seek to explore the latest trends and innovations emerging from the dynamic Asian marketplace.
A Step Change
“IGD Asia is a step change for businesses wanting to better understand and trade successfully with the FMCG industry in Asia," commented Louise Spillard, managing director of IGD Asia.
"The relationships we have built with retailers and suppliers in Asia give us unrivalled access to what’s happening on the ground in the region and allow us to be uniquely placed to understand the challenges companies face and deliver the right insight and capability."
IGD Asia will cover 18 markets across Asia, with a particular focus on China. Additionally, it will cover over 100 retailer profiles in the region.
"Our insights not only show the 'what' but importantly add value around the 'how' and 'why'," Spillard added. "We help manufacturers understand their customers, the retailers, as well as understand how to operate within their own businesses better to identify and realise the opportunities available to them.”
