French retail group Les Mousquetaires has opened a new Intermarché hypermarket in Portugal's greater Lisbon area, located in the district of Sacavém, according to Notícias Ao Minuto.
The new store is over 1,900 square metres in size and features a new layout that replicates a traditional market, with fresh produce, a bakery, a take away area with traditional Portuguese cuisine, regional and gourmet products, and a wine cellar.
In addition, there are also areas dedicated to pet products, childcare products, and stationery, as well as a cafeteria, a covered car park, and a petrol station.
Continued Expansion
The opening of the Sacavém hypermarket increases the number of stores operated by Les Mousquetaires in Portugal to 246 nationwide.
The retailer is planning to invest another €200 million by 2020, with the aim of opening 63 new stores.
