Supermarket chain Intermarché has opened a new store in Portugal, located in Santo António dos Cavaleiros, district of Loures.
The opening of the 241th store is part of the 2015-2020 expansion plan of French retail group Les Mousquetaires, worth €200 million, that foresees the opening of 63 stores in Portugal by 2020 (taking the total to 294).
The new store is based on the concept that Intermarché has started deploying across its network. It consists of three areas: an entry with everything the customer wants on hand for immediate consumption (cafeteria + restoration + take away); everyday shopping focused on fresh sections (bakery, pastry, fruits and vegetables, delicatessen, butcher and fishmonger); and an area for larger purchases (food and non-food) to meet local consumer needs. The store also includes a
Wine Cellar, as well as special sections for Baby and Beauty products and Pet Food.
Meanwhile, Intermarché has won the gold medal in the category of “Distribution and Restaurants” at the 11th edition of the Effectiveness Awards for its communication campaign “Cá dos nossos” (One of us). The campaign focused on promoting the retailer’s philosophy and its local presence, through the testimony of its customers.
Organised by the Portuguese Association of Advertisers, the Awards highlight the key role of the effectiveness in campaigns and therefore in organizations.
