BWG Group, which operates the Spar franchise in Ireland, has posted revenue of €1.41 billion in the 12 months to 30 September 2017, according to documents posted at the Companies Registration Office.
This is up from €1.39 billion the previous year.
In addition, the group posted profit before tax of €29.8 billion, up from €24.2 billion a year earlier.
Regional Performance
Some €1.2 billion worth of turnover, around 87.5%, was generated in the group's Irish operation, which encompasses the Spar, Spar Express, Eurospar, Mace, Londis and XL banners, while €174.6 million was generated in the group's UK wholesale operation, Appleby Westward.
BWG acquired the Appleby Westward business in May 2017.
Payroll costs increased to €70.8 million for the period, BWG Group said, up from €60.9 million a year earlier, while directors remuneration was €1.07 million, up from €1.05 million a year earlier.
