The seasonally adjusted volume of Irish retail sales fell 0.1% in November 2018, leaving the annual growth rate at 3.6%, data from the Central Statistics Office has revealed.
Excluding car sales, retail sales volume increased by 0.2% in November of last year when compared to the previous month, to stand 1.9% higher on the year.
The Sectors
Electrical goods (+6.8%), and bars (+4.1%) recorded the highest monthly volume increases.
The highest month-on-month decrease in volume was seen in pharmaceuticals, medical and cosmetic articles (-7.5%), and food, beverages, and tobacco (-5.6%).
Value Of Retail Sales
There was no change in the value of retail sales in November 2018 when compared with October 2018.
However, there was an annual increase of 2.7% when compared with November 2017.
