Sardinian-based Gruppo Abbi – a partner of Gruppo Crai – has rolled out a new store format in Cagliari, combining the digital and physical channels.
The Tuttigiorni store combines e-commerce with a new approach to grocery shopping, the retailer noted.
Shoppers can also take advantage of home delivery services and accumulate points with the Tuttigiorni loyalty card.
Former Despar Outlet
The 1,000-square-metre outlet previously housed a Despar store, which was acquired by Gruppo Abbi last year.
The new-look store includes a ‘La Rosa dei gusti’ bakery, which churns out bread baked in a wood-burning oven and produced using traditional recipes.
There is a large fresh-produce department, with fruit and vegetables, meat, fish, cold meats, and cheeses.
The store also features a comprehensive private-label offer, including brands such as Leader Price, Crai, Piaceri, La Rosa dei gusti and Cuore dell’Isola, in addition to a wide range of local products.
Sustainability Focus
In order to bolster its recycling and environmental protection initiatives, Tuttigiorni has installed an eco-compactor for PET bottles, as well as a campaign to promote the reuse of shopping bags.
For each shopping bag brought from home, customers will receive a five-cent rebate to spend on their shopping.
A second Tuttigiorni store is scheduled to open in Sassari in June, with future store openings planned for the coming months.
Family-run Gruppo Abbi is one of the leading operators in the food retail sector in Sardinia, with a turnover of €700 million and a network of over 350 shops, both directly owned and franchised.
