Italian retailer VéGé Group has launched an online shopping service in South Italy through its local partner, Commerciale GiCap.
The e-commerce service is the first of the FCMG market in Sicily and was set up in collaboration with Risparmiosuper.it.
It currently covers the entire territory of the city of Messina from Torre Faro up to the municipality of Roccalumera. Future plans include the expansion of the service to Palermo, Lipari and cities in the Calabria region as well.
The QuiConviene.it service provides consumers with the option of delivery in three time slots or the withdrawal of purchases at the point of sale. In the future it will be possible to order online via a mobile application. The delivery charge is €3.50 for purchases ranging from €40 to €100 but is free for higher amounts.
The project is seen as a model for the creation of similar e-commerce projects by the other member companies of the VéGé Group.
Commerciale GiCap has over 160 stores in Italy (Sicily and Calabria regions) and Malta.
