Dutch retailer Jumbo has announced that it is entering into a strategic partnership with healthcare provider Intrakoop to deliver groceries to institutions around the Netherlands.
The agreement allows the 600 health organisations working under the Intrakoop banner to go through Jumbo’s online store and purchase food for their clients. Once ordered, the food will then be delivered to the institution, directly into the kitchen.
Intrakoop members will also receive additional benefits in the online store, and can choose from a wide range of products.
Customised Purchasing Solutions
Frank Kaptein, director of Intrakoop, said, "The differences between individual health care organisations are increasing. This requires customised purchasing solutions. Our partnership with Jumbo makes it possible to buy high-quality foods that meet the wishes of the client."
Roy van Keulen, online director at Jumbo, said that the retailer wants to strengthen its position in this sector, and expand its range to include medical products and professional cleaning products.
"By partnering with Intrakoop we have already learned a lot about the industry," he said. "It is a world which is human-centered, and that suits the Jumbo DNA."
