Dutch supermarket chain Jumbo has reported that a family event, held at its distribution centre in Veghel, The Netherlands, attracted more than 3,000 visitors.
The family day, organised for Jumbo employees and their families on Sunday 2 April, offered an educational tour of departments at the new Jumbo headquarters, also located in Veghel.
In addition, the event offered fun activities for young and old, including having your picture taken with one of the super-extended articulated Jumbo lorries, taking part in a virtual ‘Max Verstappen’ race using a race simulator, decorating cakes or playing at checkout assistant.
Commenting on the event, Colette Cloosterman-Van Eerd, co-owner of Jumbo Supermarkets and director of formula and innovation, said, “I particularly enjoy the enthusiasm with which people tell their families about their work here. [...] It’s great to be able to show our employees our refurbished headquarters during this family day.”
