Dutch retailer Jumbo has launched a series of sustainability-themed weeks in its stores, that aim to make it easier for customers to choose sustainable alternatives when shopping.
This autumn, the retailer will hold Bewuste Visweek (promoting sustainable fishing), Bio10daagse (for organic produce), a fair trade week, and a 'BeterLeven' (better life) week.
These events will feature special offers and new product introductions, with marketing campaigns that will provide customers with more information on these topics.
Social Responsibility
"As a major supermarket chain we have a social responsibility," said Colette Cloosterman Van Eerd, CCO of Jumbo Supermarkets.
"At Jumbo, we consider our stores the place to inspire and encourage customers to use healthier and more sustainable products. Customers can rely on Jumbo products to provide care for people, animals and the environment."
Jumbo says that it already stocks a large range of sustainable and organic produce, but will be introducing 100 more this autumn.
