German retailer Kaufland has announced that it has obtained the approval to open two more outlets in Victoria.
In March of this year, the retailer acquired the permission to open its first three stores in Victoria in Dandenong, Epping and Chirnside Park.
An additional nine locations in Victoria are awaiting approval from authorities, Kaufland said.
'Long-Term' Growth
"Our plans show that we aim for long-term, sustainable growth throughout Victoria," said Julia Kern, CEO of Kaufland Australia.
"We look forward to creating thousands of jobs and new opportunities for local businesses."
The investment in Victoria amounts to more than €300 million and is expected to create more than 2,400 new jobs, Kaufland said.
Last week, the retail giant commenced the construction of its first store.
In July of this year, Kaufland started building its first distribution centre in Mickleham.
'Uncompromising Quality'
"Australia is one of the fastest-growing regions in the world, and we look forward to growing with it," Kern added.
"Our goal is to raise the bar in the retail industry and provide our customers with uncompromising quality in food retailing."
