German discounter Kaufland has announced that its entire range of frozen fish and shrimp, across all 660 stores, will now be MSC or ASC certified.
The product assortment includes around 30 items comprising crispy and gourmet fillets, fish fingers, shrimp and salmon fillet as well as seasonal items.
Responsible Sourcing
The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) and Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) quality marks indicate that the products are sourced from sustainable resources, and are traceable.
The move is in line with Kaufland’s vision to expand its sustainable product range, while encouraging production conditions that are environmentally friendly.
The retailer offers around 30,000 products, including a wide range of food items including fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy and meat, sausage, cheese, and fish.
