Finnish retailer Kesko Group has opened the K-Citymarket online store, offering a wide range of home and beauty products as well as toys.
Sales director, Pia Rytilahti, said in a statement, "There are already more than 150 new brands in the launch phase, in addition to which, of course, the favourite brands and products that Finns already know are included.
"We are happy that we can now offer customers a better opportunity than before to choose the best purchase channel for them, regardless of time and place."
For the food retail category, customers can purchase online from K-ruoka.fi, which will continue to offer the same product assortment as before, Kesko added.
K-Citymarket Online Store
The new website allows shoppers to search for more information about a specific product, or check its availability at the nearest K-Citymarket store.
Moreover, the online store also offers more colour options or models of products than those available in physical stores.
Around 30% of the products available at K-Citymarket.fi are only available online, while the remaining are also available in K-Citymarket stores.
"Along with the customer experience, the new online store emphasises above all the ease of buying, brands and selection. The online store supports the strong growth strategy of our consumer goods operations, and we invest heavily in the service since almost 200 K-group members have already been involved in its construction in various roles," added purchasing and sales director, Hannele Åberg.
The grocery division of Kesko generated sales worth €513.1 million in June, registering year-on-year growth of 1.7%. Grocery sales at K-food stores grew by 1.3%, while sales of home and specialty goods at K-Citymarket were also up.
