Kimball To Front Kroger’s Smith’s

Kroger has appointed Kenny Kimball as the president of its division Smith’s, which operates 138 supermarkets in seven US states.

He moves from being the Kroger subsidiary’s vice president of operations, and succeeds Jay Cummins, who is to retire from retail.

In the past he has occupied the role of Smith’s vice president of sales and merchandising, and before that those of store manager, district manager and bakery director.

Rodney McMullen, Kroger’s CEO said that his "passion for developing associates and his commitment to putting our customers first will further accelerate growth in our important Smith’s division markets."

"Kenny brings to this role leadership experience at all levels of our business and a record of success as both an operator and a merchandiser. We look forward to his leadership as president of Smith’s," he added in the Kroger statement.
