Danish retailer Dagrofa earlier this week announced the closure of its Kiwi discount chain, and following that announcement, the retailer has confirmed that around 30 of these stores will be transformed into Meny and Spar outlets.
The majority of these Kiwi outlets will be converted into Spar stores, and seven will become Meny outlets.
It is expected that the store conversions will be completed by the end of September, and that the remaining Kiwi stores will be closed down before the summer.
Retailer response
"We look forward to welcoming customers in a food market with skilled employees, a wide selection of exciting products and good shopping experiences," said Martin Brinch Jöhncke, head of concept and development at Meny.
Niels Karstensen, brand director of Spar, added that he hopes the change will be "well received" by both new and existing customers.
