For its annual ‘Savour World Flavour’ event, Kroger is pushing Spanish cuisine in an in-store and online promotion, which features 40 new products that are unique to it among US supermarket chains, Chron.com reports.
The ‘Taste of Spain’ event features imported produce from Spain, including Jamón ibérico de Bellota, olive oil, chorizo, Spanish cheeses, and paprika. In its supermarkets, shoppers will be able to sample these foodstuffs along Spanish wine, and receive recipes for classic Spanish dishes such as beef empanada and paella.
The supermarket chain will also allow its customers to engage with professional chefs who specialise in Spanish cuisine through Twitter on 11 April as part of the promotional effort.
For last year’s ‘Savour World Flavour’, Kroger concentrated on Italian gastronomy. Next year, it will present an array of Mexican food products to its clientele.
‘Taste of Spain’ began running on 6 April and will end on 19 April.
