Russian hypermarket chain Lenta has announced the opening of its first store in Shakhty, in Rostov Oblast.
The new store, which covers 7,721 square metres, with 4,258 square metres of selling space, will offer 17,000 SKUs, including a number of local products.
The opening on 13 Aleksandrovsk-Grushevskiy av. is Lenta’s second hypermarket opening of 2017, and brings the group’s total number of stores to 193 hypermarkets in 78 cities across Russia and 49 supermarkets in Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Central region.
Lenta is Russia’s fifth largest retail chain in terms of sales. It announced earlier this week that it plans to open 30 new hypermarkets and 50 new supermarkets this year.
