Russian retailer Lenta has announced the opening of its first supermarket in 2017, in Novosibirsk, Siberia, at the Amsterdam Shopping Centre.
The new supermarket has around 959 square metres of retail space and a total shop floor area of around 1,577 metres square. It will be open seven days per week, between 8.00 am and 11.00 pm.
The assortment includes 6,900 SKUs, tailored to the Novosibirsk community and covers Lenta’s private labels and local produce as well as premium brands.
Lenta’s chief executive officer, Jan Dunning, commented, “Our choice of Novosibirsk to launch our first supermarket outside Moscow and St. Petersburg was well justified".
"We see significant growth potential in the Novosibirsk market and plan to open several more supermarkets in the city before the end of the year."
Lenta opened its first hypermarket, outside of St. Petersburg, in the city in 2006.
The new store brings the total number of Lenta supermarkets, located in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk and Central Russia, to 50. The chain also operates 193 hypermarkets, in 78 cities across Russia.
