Lidl Germany has named Matthias Oppitz as its new boss, replacing Marin Dokozic, who has held the position since autumn 2015.
Lidl announced that Dokozic has already left the company, after sixteen years with the group, and Oppitz is now taking over with immediate effect.
Oppitz has been a member of Lidl's executive board since 2014, and was previously head of Lidl's Swiss operations. He will also be responsible for the group's newly-created digital division.
Hilbronner Stimme notes that with 3,200 branches and turnover of €20.4 billion last year, Germany is by far Lidl's largest market.
