Lidl has launched its first online portal in Belgium, which will focus primarily on non-food items for the time being.
Similar to what the retailer operates in Germany, Planet Retail reported that the site will offer a range of 350 non-food items, such as homewares, cookware and clothing, as well as larger items that cannot be displayed in-store.
Online orders are delivered within a two-day window, for the price of €2.99.
Commenting on the new site, Barclays noted that ‘while in store special buys act as a key footfall driver for limited time, they may be available all year round in the web shop’.
