The president of Lidl Polska, Maksymilian Braniecki, is to take on a wider role overseeing the discounter's operations in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Romania and Bulgaria.
Braniecki has joined the management board of Germany-based Lidl Stiftung & Co. KG, which is responsible for managing the group's operations around the world.
From March of this year, the role of president at Lidl Polska will be assumed by Włodzimierz Wlaźlak, a current board member at the business.
Poland Network
During Braniecki's term as president, Lidl has grown its Poland network to more than 700 stores, as well as roll out online channels such as the Winnicalidla.pl drinks ordering platform.
Braniecki has had a 17-year career with the discounter, starting at Lidl Polska in 2003 before taking over the role of CEO at Lidl Romania in May 2012. He has been the president of Lidl's Polish business since November 2015.
