German discount chain Lidl has announced a five-year investment plan in Italy worth over €1 billion.
As part of its Italian expansion plans, Lidl plans to recruit over 2,000 employees in two years, both for sales points and regional logistics centres.
In particular, the discounter will hire about 400 people in over 570 stores, 10 regional directorates and the offices of the headquarters in Arcole, in the province of Verona. Most of the jobs will be full-time.
Present in Italy for 24 years, Lidl now has over 11,000 employees and 10 distribution centres.
It recently won the award of Best Workplace, ranking as the first company in the Italian retail sector, offering attractive career opportunities and a stimulating and dynamic work environment.
