Lithuanian retail group Maxima has announced the appointment of Marko Põder as its new CEO and chairman of the board in its Estonian business.
Põder had been functioning as the interim CEO of the retail group in Estonia since September of 2018.
Põder described his new role as an "interesting professional challenge," and added, "My priority is to ensure the company’s sustainable growth, focusing on the quality of customer service and the internal culture of the organisation."
Experienced Professional
He has more than 10 years of experience in the retail sector, and has worked as the chief operating officer and a board member of Maxima Eesti for the past two years.
CEO and board chairman of Maxima Grupė, Dalius Misiūnas, said, "A significant advantage that Marko brings is the fact that he knows the organisation, is well-aware of its strengths as well as challenges.
"I believe that this advantage and solid experience in Estonia’s retail sector will help to accomplish ambitious goals for Maxima Grupė."
