Maxima Group Announces New CEO

Baltic-region retailer Maxima Group has announced Alvydas Šustikas as its new chief executive officer, replacing the outgoing Neringa Janavičiūtė.

Previously heading the Azerbaijan food retailer Azeri Retail, Šustikas takes over the new post of the Maxima chain, which operates in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland and Bulgaria.

"I have gone a long and interesting way in the companies of Maxima, and by completing my work here, I may summarise that the companies of the group operate steadily, and the foreseen plans and projects are implemented," said outgoing CEO Janavičiūtė.

"Many new and continuous challenges lie ahead for the new CEO, the most important of which are to increase the business's competitiveness, strengthen its positions in foreign markets, and continue to implement the contemporary model of business management in all companies of the group," said Raimonda Kižienė, CEO of Vilniaus prekyba, UAB, controlling company of Maxima.

Maxima Group currently consolidates retail companies in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Bulgaria and Poland, totalling 528 Maxima X, Maxima XX, Maxima XXX, Aldik and T-Market stores.
