Lithuanian retailer Maxima Grupė has announced that it has appointed Irena Petruškevičienė as chairperson and an independent member of the company's audit committee, effective 1 February 2019.
She will replace Kasparas Žebrauskas, who stepped down from the position due to other professional commitments.
An Industry Veteran
Petruškevičienė is an industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience in auditing.
As well as from Lithuania, she also worked for many years at international institutions including the European Court of Auditors, the European Commission and the UN World Food Programme.
She is also the head of the financial strategy and management programme at ISM University of management and economics in Lithuania.
The Audit Committee
The retail group established the audit committee in 2018 with the aim to strengthen its corporate governance.
Other members of the committee are Jurgita Kirvaitienė, managing director of the electronic money institution Glocash Payment, and Rytis Jezepčikas, a member of the board of Vilniaus Prekyba.
