Lithuanian retailer Maxima has announced the appointment of Mantas Kuncaitis as the CEO of Maxima Grupė UAB and Franmax UAB, effective immediately.
He will also take up the role of the chairman of the board of Maxima Grupė, the retailer added.
Most recently, Kuncaitis served as the CEO of Maxima Grupė‘s sole shareholder, Vilniaus prekyba, UAB.
He succeeds Jurgita Šlekytė, who has stepped down from the position.
Kuncaitis commented, “Jurgita Šlekytė has successfully managed the challenges faced during the most difficult times of the COVID-19 pandemic and helped to ensure stable operation of the whole group of Maxima Grupė‘s companies. We thank her for handling that demanding situation.”
Šlekytė has also stepped down as board member of Maxima Grupė and Radas UAB, which manages e-grocer, Barbora.
Other Changes
Jolanta Bivainytė, the current CEO of Maxima LT, who has been the chairperson of Maxima Grupė‘s board, will continue as a board member.
The retailer has also renewed the term of office of Maxima Grupė‘s board for four years.
Elsewhere, the company has appointed Laimonas Devyžis and Povilas Šulys as new members of its supervisory board, to replace Mantas Kuncaitis and Ignas Staškevičius, respectively.
Evelina Černienė, the CFO of Vilniaus prekyba, UAB, will continue to chair Maxima Grupė‘s supervisory board, the company added.
