Maxima Latvia has announced the opening of two new stores in the centre of Riga, at Tallinas Street (pictured) and Brīvības Street.
The openings, which follow an investment of €500,000 mean that Maxima has now opened a total of four stores in December, a monthly record for 2018.
“As the year draws to a close, we are pleased that 160 Maxima stores throughout Latvia are now open to customers thanks to an intensive investment plan involving the renovation of existing stores and the opening of new ones," said Maxima Latvija board member Kristīne Āboltiņa.
"Two more stores have been created with the speed of city life in mind, considering the residents’ need to buy basic necessities quickly and conveniently. We have adapted our range of products and improved the store’s interior, and we also significantly changed the layout of the store’s check-out zone in order to make shopping more convenient and pleasant in our more compact stores."
The Tallinas Street store is 167 square metres in size, while the Brīvības Street outlet is 508 square metres in size. Both stores include state of the art ventilation systems and LED lighting in order to improve energy efficiency.
Maxima has invested a total of €23 million this year in new openings and store refurbishments.
