Maxima Latvija has invested close to €650,000 to open five new 'My Shop' concept stores in July and August by renovating existing stores.
The initiative is part of the retailer's store transformation project aimed to improve convenience for customers and employees.
The renovated outlets are located in five different regions of Latvia, the retailer noted.
In July, a total of three stores opened under the new and unified 'My Store' concept in the cities of Riga, Tukums, and Daugavpils.
The retailer has opened two stores in Salaspils and Lielvārde in August.
'Ambitious Project'
Elīna Stībele, compliance director and head of legal at Maxima Latvija, said, "The introduction of the format is an ambitious project that we have already started last year and we are really happy that we have already opened five new format stores this summer, which will allow more and more customers in different regions of Latvia to shop quickly, conveniently and efficiently.
"So far, we have already adapted 38 stores across Latvia to the unified 'My Shop' concept. In August, we plan to adapt at least 10 more stores in cities such as Plavinas, Daugavpils, and Riga. By the end of the year, we plan to adapt about 40 more stores to the unified concept, so that even more people in Latvia will have a convenient shopping experience and our colleagues in the stores will have a more efficient work process."

As part of the renovation, more than €300,000 was invested in the reconstruction and adaptation of the stores in Salaspils and Lielvārde.
The renovation included upgraded premises that are more intuitive, spacious and provide a more convenient shopping environment for the region's residents.
