Maxima LT, the Lithuanian business of Maxima Grupé has announced the commencement of a ‘Mažos Kainos Garantija’ (Low Price Guarantee) campaign that the retailer says will offer the lowest price for 1,000 of the group’s best selling products.
The campaign will measure prices in Iki, Norfa, Lidl and Rimi outlets - Maxima’s main rivals in the market - and if a product is available for less in one of these stores, Maxima will reduce the price point to the lowest market price.
“Today, customers are involved in price hunting when they visit the supermarket,” said Kristina Meidė, Maxima LT director general. “We listen to our customers, and that is why we took the decision to introduce low prices for them to hunt for.”
The 1,000 items that comprise the offer represent around one-fifth of Maxima’s turnover, and include products like fresh and frozen vegetables, milk, meat products, soft drinks and cooking oil.
Maxima LT operates 237 stores across Lithuania, and employs around 16,000 staff in the country.
