Lithuanian retailer Maxima Grupė has named Andrius Mikalauskas as the new chief executive officer of its online grocery business, Barbora.
The company also announced the appointment of Vitalij Rakovski as the chairman of the board of Radas - the company which owns Barbora.
In February of this year, Mikalauskas was appointed as the interim CEO and a member of the board of Radas
Before joining Maxima Grupe in September of 2017, as the CFO of Barbora, he worked at Ernst&Young for more than six years.
Online Sales
In 2018, sales of goods through e-commerce channel of Barbora grew by almost 50% in the Baltics, the company said.
Andrius Mikalauskas said, “Last year Barbora started operating in Latvia and Estonia, also expanded in the major Lithuanian cities of Kaunas and Klaipėda."
"Further expansion, improving service quality and customer experience, and implementing solutions that are innovative and environmentally friendly will remain the most important priorities of Barbora,” he added.
