Spanish supermarket chain Mercadona continues to plan for its entry into Portugal. As reported by revistainforetail.com, the retailer is set to commence the hiring process of the first 120 store directors to lead the project in Portuguese territory.
With this process, the retailer expects to consolidate a large part of the key positions for the organisation in Portugal and to create the base to allow Mercadona to develop internationally.
The new directors will be immersed into the company through an 18 month training program for which Mercadona is to invest €50,000 per employee. During the process, they will receive specific training in Mercadona's model of Total Quality Management, as well as managerial skills and leadership.
To cover these positions, Mercadona is looking for graduates that have post graduate studies or masters in areas like Economics, Business Administration, Law, Architecture and Engineering. They need to have a full drivers' license and be able to travel often.
