Spain's Mercadona purchased approximately €739 million worth of goods from suppliers in Tarragona last year. The retailer operates 34 shops and has 1,467 workers in the region.
As reported by DiariDeTarragona.com, suppliers serving the retailer invested a total of €12 million last year and employ 1,255 people in the area.
Some of the biggest producers that work with Mercadona in Tarragona are Cunicarn, which last year supplied 8.9 million kilos of meat to the chain, and Maberick-Ubesol, which supplied it with 35.7 million litres of shower gel and 12 million litres of shampoo.
