Metro Group has announced that it is combining its Corporate Communications and Public Policy functions under one roof.
'With the merger of functions, communications with the relevant target groups are to be linked more closely and allow intensified and more efficient cooperation,' the retailer said in a statement.
'Bundling the political, external and internal communications is of particular importance for the strategic positioning of the group and will enhance a clear approach to all stakeholders.'
Michael Wedell, who currently holds the position of Group Director Corporate Public Policy at Metro, is to head up the new combined department. Rüdiger Stahlschmidt will take charge of the Corporate Communications strand, taking over responsibility for internal and external communications.
