Metro AG has named Felix Lindemann as the new chief operating officer for Metro-Nom, the group's IT division. He will join the wholesale and retail group on 16 November.
The division was recently renamed Metro-Nom in a bid to position it as a 'pacesetter' in the IT field and to highlight its position as an 'international tech player' in the food and wholesale sector.
New Responsibilities
Lindemann, who is currently serving as deputy managing director at the international IT division of Aldi Süd, will be responsible for all merchandise management systems worldwide. He will report to Timo Salzsieder, chief solution officer (CSO) and chief information officer (CIO) at Metro AG.
Speaking about the new appointment, Timo Salziesder said, "With Felix Lindemann, we have been able to win an acknowledged expert in the field of retail IT.
"Stakeholder Solutions plays a central role in our IT organisation and is responsible for central elements of the digitisation strategy of Metro Cash & Carry. One of Lindemann's tasks will be to take the global merchandise management system of Metro AG to the next level."
