German wholesale and retail company Metro has announced that it is launching an interactive exhibition, 'Metro Unboxed', in the centre of Düsseldorf.
The temporary exhibition, which runs until 2 October, will give visitors a chance to try international specialities from the countries that Metro operates in, such as Japanese sea greens, Spanish Serrano ham, and Moldovan wine, and talk to Metro staff about digital innovations in the future of wholesale and retail.
New Business
The company, which recently underwent a name change and stock exchange listing, sees this as a way to introduce the new business to the public.
"After our stock exchange listing we want to present the new Metro to the public in person - how we support independent business owners around the world, how we help to shape life in towns and cities, and how we take ownership in social responsibility," said Olaf Koch, Metro AG chairman.
"With 'METRO unboxed', we aren't just showing what already happens in the world of wholesale and retail. We also take visitors on a journey to discover the food and technology trends of tomorrow. Throughout the exhibition, there is a focus on our commitment to enhancing sustainability in wholesale and retail."
