Portuguese retailer Sonae MC has opened five new neighbourhood stores of the Meu Super franchising format in November.
The stores are located in Alges (municipality of Oeiras, sales area of around 170 square metres), Santa Apolonia (Lisbon, 130 square metres), Vila Verde (Braga, 98 square metres) and Odivelas (Lisbon, 159 square metres).
Brand Expansion
The latest openings are part of the brand's expansion strategy, which aims to get closer to the local communities. The store is characterised by close customer service and the offer of adjusted product ranges with a focus on fresh products.
Customers who visit the new Meu Super stores will be able to find a wide range of Continente private label brands including Seleção Continente, Fácil & Bom Continente, Contemporal, Bio e Saudável and MyLabel.
The Meu Super network consists of over 280 stores throughout Portugal.
Sonae MC posted an overall turnover increase of 4.8% in the first nine months of its financial year, to €2.81 billion, according to results posted this morning.
