Swiss retailer Migros is set to revamp and modernise its retail space in the Neuwiesen shopping centre in Winterthur, Eastern Switzerland, on 3 January.
Last renovated in 2002, the done-up space is part of a planned renewal of the shopping centre. The company will set up a temporary space during construction, it said.
The supermarket on the ground floor and the electronics section will be completed first, with the first floor only accessible via the staircase. During the reconstruction period, the charcuterie and cheese counters will be closed from 2 January 2017, but a selection of products will be available from the self-service counters.
The provisional integrated supermarket and electronics department will be available from 3 April, with a floral department opening on 18 April. While the restaurant will be closed, the Migros Take-Away section will offer a small menu.
Construction work will start after the temporary space has been opened, in early April next year. The Migros-Supermarket, the Migros-Restaurant and the Do it + Garden Migros (with an integrated Micasa-Home offer) will be opened in late summer 2018.
Construction work in the centre itself will be completed in September 2019.
The company also announced a renewal of its Gossau store in October.
