Spanish retail group Dia has opened seven new Minipreço Market stores in Portugal.
In the Greater Lisbon area, four stores were opened in Cova da Piedade, Rinchoa, Setúbal and Marvila. The remaining three stores are located in Monte Gordo (Algarve), Arraiolos (Alentejo) and Apúlia (Braga).
The new stores have a total retail area of over 2,600 m2.
According to the retailer, the Minipreço Market concept is characterized "by an increased offer, as well as an updated and modernized image, providing a more pleasant shopping experience".
The format differs from the traditional Minipreço stores through its colour scheme - blue and green - and by offering more services, especially in the area of fresh products, but also by the improvement of the bakery, pastry, cold cuts, deli and wine sections.
Dia now operates a total of 620 Minipreço neighbourhood stores in Portugal.
Dia’s 9M revenues in Portugal dropped by 6.6% compared to the same period last year, to €512.4 million.
