In the third change to its executive committee this year, Morrisons has made Clare Grainger its human resource director, retailgazette.co.uk reports.
The appointment is an internal promotion: her previous position was group retail director for Morrisons, which she has held on an interim basis. Grainger in the past has been responsible for hiring 5,000 new employees for Morrisons.
On Morrisons’ executive committee are the former Asda employee joins Darren Blackhurst and Gary Mills, the grocer’s commercial director and newly appointed group retail director respectively.
David Potts, the company’s CEO, said, “Clare is a hard-working and talented director who passionately represents our people at every level. She has done a great job of leading our stores and now her focus will move to ensuring we grow, develop and attract the best talent to support our turnaround.”
She will begin the role in September.
