Morrisons supermarket has announced it is scrapping trolley locks in response to customer feedback.
The UK grocery retailer said it is reacting to customer requests for quicker and easier shopping experiences.
Morrisons plans to remove 150,000 locks from stores this month.
At its Verwood store, all the trolley bay fixtures have already been updated - removing the requirement to insert a £1 coin or token to release a trolley from the bay.
'Customers in Verwood have told us they want a quicker shop,' said supermarket manager Martin Rolfe.
'Our nation is getting busier and we have less free time than previous generations,' he explained.
'The removal of trolley locks is just one of the many improvements we are making to our store – to make for a faster and easier shopping trip.'
Other improvements for a speedier shop for customers include the store redesign, an extension of its opening hours, improvements made to the baby changing and toilet facilities, and changes to car park procedures.
