Morrisons Unveils Amazon Locker Collection Service

Morrisons has announced it is to rollout the UK’s largest collection of Amazon lockers in its stores, to enable customers to pick up items bought online from its stores.

Morrisons said that it plans to install ‘hundreds’ of lockers in its stores around the UK, building on the relationship that already exists between the two companies. In May, Amazon began selling Morrisons grocery items through its AmazonFresh service in London and Amazon Pantry around the rest of the UK.

“Many busy customers can’t wait at home for their delivery, and we believe the option to pick it up from one of our hundreds of conveniently located supermarkets will be attractive,” said Morrisons chief financial officer Trevor Strain.

John Tagawa, Amazon’s vice president of UK operations added, “Amazon Lockers are the delivery option of choice for many customers who want to pick up their shopping at a time and place that suits them best. Morrisons supermarkets are ideal locations for Amazon Lockers which allow people to pick up their parcels while on the move.”
