Marks & Spencer (M&S) has rebranded itself as Markle & Sparkle in honour of the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
M&S will become Markle & Sparkle for one weekend only (18-20 May) and the official unveiling of the rebrand took place on Friday 18th May at the M&S Windsor store, where a town crier presented the unveiling, along with M&S charters Percy and Penny Pig.
Royal Transformation
Work was done overnight so the rebranding and window designs would be complete in stores in Kensington & Chelsea, Reading, Maidenhead, Camberley, Bracknell, Newbury, Leamington Spa, Tunbridge Wells, Swindon, Kingston Upon Thames, Lewisham, Llandudno and Sutton Coldfield.
M&S’s social media channels also shut down last night as they too underwent the royal makeover.

"Quintessentially British"
Sharry Cramond, marketing director of food & hospitality at the retailer, said, “As a quintessentially British brand we had to do something special to mark the Royal Wedding and what better way to welcome Meghan to the family than to ‘marry’ both our names together for the weekend.
“As a retailer, we’ve celebrated 34 Royal Weddings over our 134-year history, but this is the boldest idea we’ve delivered yet! We wanted to spark a smile from Harry & Meghan on their big day and capture the excitement and celebratory mood of the nation on receiving a real-life Hollywood Princess into our Royal Family!”
M&S will run a social media campaign where customers are invited to take photos using Markle & Sparkle photo booths and post them on twitter with the hashtag #MarkleandSparkle. The images will be used to create a virtual wedding album which will be sent to Kensington Palace.
