Irish retailer Musgrave Group, which operates supermarket chain SuperValu along with Centra and Mace, has announced the appointment of Nicky Hartery as the new chairman of its management board.
Hartery has been a non-executive director of the group since 2010, and has a background in supply chain management, having worked for brands such as Dell and Kodak.
"I am delighted to announce Nicky’s appointment as Chairman and look forward to working closely with him to grow the Musgrave business," said Chris Martin, chief executive of Musgrave Group.
"In his role as non-executive director, Nicky has already made a valuable contribution to the business and I know we will continue to benefit from his deep expertise, particularly in the area of supply chain."
Senior Changes
Hartery will succeed Peter Lacy, who will retire at the end of this year. Lacy has been a non-executive director of the group since 2006, and has held the role of chairman since 2014.
"Peter has been a member of the board of Musgrave for over ten years and during that time has made a very significant contribution to business," added Martin. "I would personally like to thank him for his support to myself and the business and extend my very best wishes to him for the future.”
