Netto Germany has announced that Torben Godskesen is set to replace Paul Berg as the retail chain's CEO.
Regional food discounter Netto, which is a subsidiary of Denmark's Dansk Supermarked Group, says that Germany is the second largest market for the company, making this an important position.
Godseksen has worked with Dansk Supermarked Group for fifteen years, in a number of positions in Denmark. Most recently he was head of business development, and last year he was appointed as interim managing director of Netto Germany.
"Godskesen is a very good example of what opportunities Netto is offering talented and committed employees," said Michael Løve, CEO of Netto International.
"He takes on challenges, takes chances and already has an impressive career behind him."
New Concepts
Godskesen said that he is looking forward to the upcoming task in his new role, as the company is currently testing a new market design in selected stores in Germany.
He also wants to further strengthen the position of Netto as a regional food discounter in Germany.
"I see great potential in our concept, but the trend is growing more and more towards local and regional products, which corresponds to our DNA, our company principles," said Godskesen.
"I am very excited about the upcoming challenges."
