Lithuanian retailer Maxima Grupė’s purchasing and operations arm, Franmax, has appointed a new chief executive, Eglė Šimė, effective 19 October.
Šimė replaces Dalius Misiūnas, CEO and chairman of the board of Maxima Grupė, as the head of Franmax, which provides franchise and agency services to companies of Maxima Grupė in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Bulgaria and Poland.
“At the stage of Maxima Grupė’s international expansion, it is very important to meet fast and high-quality business needs,” commented Misiūnas.
“Therefore, development of Franmax activities is one of our strategic priorities. Due to this reason, we have appointed a CEO who will put the main focus on further development of Franmax and its efficiency,” he added.
Franmax is responsible for purchasing, developing corporate and private brands, improving the efficiency of the group’s supply chain, developing stores, and maintaining and developing IT systems and programmes at Maxima Grupė.
IT Background
Prior to joining Maxima Grupė, Šimė was working as CEO of Verslo Aptarnavimo Centras, a leading IT provider, for more than three years.
“Franmax activities are of key importance for Maxima Grupė’s retail chains located in different countries,” she commented.
“Therefore, our first goal is to define Franmax activities and services provided to retail chains, as well as to keep on strengthening our competencies. The trust shown by the board is a great incentive to achieve our goals,” added Šimė.
