Mercadona has utilised an investment of €3.4 million to open a new supermarket in Eibar (Gipuzkoa), this past Wednesday 31 August.
As reported by diario.es, it is expected that the new retail outlet will provide 'stable quality' jobs to 40 people. During the construction of the facility, 75 vendors participated, employing 228 people.
The supermarket features a sales area of 1,500 square metres, with dedicated sections for charcuterie, packaged goods, and fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as a fresh fish counter, butcher, bakery and drug store.
It will also provide 140 parking spaces for in-store shoppers, home delivery and a click and collect point for online purchases.
This new Mercadona has been designed to incorporate environmentally-friendly and energy-saving principles, with lighting and refrigeration systems up to 20% more efficient than the average.
The supermarket will be open Monday to Saturday between 9.15 and 21.15.
