Ursula Nold has been appointed the new president of the Migros administration, which is responsible for strategy across the Swiss operation's various cooperatives.
Nold will assume the new role on 1 July, replacing current president Andrea Broggini in the position.
Nold, who is the first woman to be named president of the Migros administration, was a former president of Migros Aare's Cooperative Council, as well as holding positions on various boards.
"I look forward to working with regional cooperatives, the administration and the Directorate-General to guide Migros into the future," Nold commented.
"Customer needs are changing and so are the demands on Migros as a strongly anchored company with high social values. In this dynamic environment, I am convinced that Migros, with its innovative spirit and its proximity to customers, will remain a safe bet for the Swiss population."
Commenting on her appointment, outing president Andrea Broggini added that Nold will "stand up for the unique values of Migros in the future".
