Spar Austria has acquired a new, independently-run supermarket in Wolfsberg, in the region of Styria. The new Spar outlet, which opened on 1 September, is run by third-generation retailers Doris and Hannes Kaier.
The opening followed a week-long refurbishment to bring the shop's interior design and equipment up to date and was marked by offering a checque for €1,000 to the community, in support of the Trachtenmusik Wolfsberg association.
The new retail space measures around 400 square meters. In addition to the private-label Spar-Budget, Spar-Premium and Natur*pur ranges, the shop will continue to sell a wide selection of regional and local breads, pasta, honey and poultry.
"We are so pleased to have such a strong partner in Spar. We can hardly wait to welcome the Wolfsbergers into our Spar-Market", Doris and Hannes Kaier said.
"It's clear that nothing beats regional produce for taste. So it's fantastic that the Kaier family shares this point of view and offers and a wide range of Styrian products", said Christoph Holzer, CEO for Spar Styria.
