Auchan Retail France is operating nine of its hypermarkets as collection points for parcel 'click-and-collect' business Packcity on a trial basis, reports Actu-Transport-Logistique.fr.
This collaboration allows Packcity to enlarge its network of collection points, while driving footfall in these Auchan stores.
The trial period follows a successful smaller-scale test in two Auchan hypermarkets, namely those in Leers and Plaisir in northern France.
Safety Perceptions
Mehdi Zouari, director of Digital at Auchan, says that the installations “reinforce the perception of safety” among those shopping through Auchan.fr.
At present, between 100 and 150 parcels purchased through Packcity are collected through the nine Auchan hypermarkets daily.
