Boparan Holdings Ltd, the parent company of 2 Sisters Food Group, has announced that it has strengthened its board with the appointment of Alex Russo as a non-executive director.
Russo is an experienced retail executive, having worked for 25 years for multinationals, private equity and privately owned companies across the UK, Europe, Asia and America.
Currently the executive director and chief financial officer at Wilko, he was previously senior vice-president at Walmart, serving as UK CFO for Asda for five years, until 2018.
Prior to this, he held senior leadership roles at Tesco and Kingfisher plc, both in the UK and internationally.

“Alex’s appointment provides additional expertise to support the Group’s growth plans, I am delighted that we have secured his services." said Lord Allen of Kensington, chairman of 2 Sisters Food Group.
“He is an accomplished executive with a great track record in retail and consumer-oriented businesses. He offers deep experience of the world in which our business operates and I am sure he will make a valuable contribution during his time with us,” he continued.
Russo will serve as non-executive director and also chair the group's audit committee.
